Not like we ever really got started, but NY NICE is back in action. Send in your nicest NYC stories and let’s see just how nice this place really is.

Went to the new Apple Store on 5th Avenue and was blown away by the customer service. It’s like a big bushel of helpers. I didn’t go five feet in either direction of the new MacBook I was spying without some nice Apple worker asking to make sure I was okay. Not pushy, just genuinely helpful. I love it there.

On the LIRR the other day I found a fiver under my seat, toward the rear of the third car (7:30 a.m. train coming in from Hicksville station — if it’s yours, let me know and I’ll get it back to you). Nice to get the day started like that.
Anyway, decided to share the wealth — pay-it-forward — and gave it to the conductor and asked her to pass it along to whomever else in the train that could use it. She looked at me weird, but then she smiled and went on her way. I hope that someone made use of it.

Hanging on Smith, I must have dropped my wallet. Unbeknownst to me, a little kid was watching over me, picked it up and ran it over to me. Very nice of him. Thanks little guy! Made my day.

Greg, owner and cool guy of the I.C.U. Bar (12th and Washington) in the West Village is awesome. Maybe the nicest (if a little loopy) bar owners I know, he runs a nice shop with interesting music and a killer sense of humor.
Cheers, Greg!

This morning we were welcome by happy and nice contractors rebuilding a beach access staircase on the northshore of Montauk. After a nice morning walk along the beach with our dog, a contractor and his young son were neatly laying out 2×4s getting ready for the day when he looked up with a kind, “have a great weekend.” And a great long weekend we had indeed. Montauk is for sure a place full of nice people.

Seriously? In NYC? Lion’s Head Inn, 109th and Amsterdam. Everyday. Now, it comes in cans, but even better.
Why is this NICE? Cuz the bartenders are really cool and very awesome.

The nicest store clerk ever was working the last shift at B&J Scoop Shop on 104th and Broadway tonight. He was your standard nice and helpful guy, then added the art of friendly conversation on top by asking our opinion on the chocolate used in certain flavors. You’d think he owned the place. Give that man a raise!

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream is at it again.
They are declaring “Random Acts of Cone-ness” in three American cities, starting with NYC this week.
Ben & Jerry’s will be giving out 50,000 free samples of their new novelty cones through what they are calling their Cone Samaritans. To get yours, go to Greeley Park (32nd and Broadway) on Wednesday, May 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more info, check out benjerry.com.
